Five minutes is all I am asking. You either step outside and start walking or go to the gym and start doing what it is you have decided to do on a regular basis. You must do it for at least five minutes and for three times a week. This does not mean you do it one time a week for fifteen minutes. This does not mean you have to work out hard, sweat, or “feel the burn.” This means you do something that looks like your habit of exercise for at least five minutes. It may be that you get dressed, walk around the block for five minutes and then you stop. That may be all you can muster on some days and that’s okay. Other times, you may think it feels nice and you continue to walk or work out for up to an hour and that is great, too. Try not to judge yourself. If you do your mini- mum…you rock! And you should tell yourself so. You can pick your minimum time based on what feels do-able for you. It should be a minimum that you can maintain for the rest of your life. There is no reason to judge it—don’t say that five minutes won’t do enough to make a difference so why bother? This is not about physical results. Do not underestimate the power of the psychological tool; if you do this, it can change the entire way you view yourself. If you cannot find five minutes, three times a week, you have much bigger Geve1 L^e1cise +o1 Wast ResDlts ! 60
