Future Tool #7 Excuses “But.” Oh, the amount of times I’ve heard this one. “I would love to live the life of my dreams, but”… I don’t want to hear it. The excuse is never good enough for me and it shouldn’t be for you either. I have my clients put all their excuses on paper. I encourage them to make a collection, then I remind them that excuses belong on paper and not in their lives. Excuses are rotten little dream-stealers. We believe in excuses at the expense of a life we would otherwise love. I encourage you to write down all the excuses you have for not pursuing the life and the body you deserve. Many of these excuses you will see as legiti- mate and unchangeable—your lot in life, so to speak. I assure you, no excuse is worth the cost of a dream. The best way to evaluate your excuses to see if they are reasons why you are doing something, versus an excuse for why you don’t accomplish something, is to see how you feel about it. An excuse is disappointing and not true when it comes to who you really are. It is QaXe MoD1 WDtD1e SaYYenfUon’t Let It SaYYen to MoD ! 205
