your emotional foundation so you feel strong and lean, not just physically, but emotionally as well. Setting the goal is not just about achieving the goal; it is about building the strength that is required to achieve it. It is a great view from the top of the moun- tain and that is a nice prize, but the feeling of accomplishment and strength is the real prize. You can use that strength and believe in yourself to climb your next mountain. You can see how much you have to look forward to. I have many mountains I want to climb. Each one of my outcomes and goals fuels me to keep climbing and challenging myself and getting to know myself more intimately. I get excited about the process. For exam- ple, the thought of hiking with my young-adult son when I am many years older creates a compelling future when I can imagine us talking about our lives and enjoying the beauty of nature together. I love that idea.
