room with an annoying person. You can acknowledge that you feel annoyed, decide not to react to it, and chose to be peaceful. I am always suggesting to my clients that instead of reacting to people, they become fascinated by them. Isn’t it interesting how selfish, annoying, demanding, and mean people can be? It has nothing to do with you and everything to do with them and you can separate from it and be fascinated without taking it on. Don’t absorb the feelings of the people around you. Don’t become the experience you are having. You decide what’s to happen during your day; don’t let it decide what’s going to happen to you. Furthermore, decide to choose what happens to your life and not let your life happen to you. Even if you are experiencing divorce, weight gain, obe- sity, or being fired, you can remain who you are at your essence and see the situation for what it is. You don’t need to let your past experiences or current cir- cumstances define you. It is separate from who you are. You truly are a spiritual being having a worldly experience.
