Belief Tool #3 We Need to Change Belief Systems to Change Our Lives My clients are always very eager to know exactly how to change their beliefs. They learn that they believe they will always be fat and they want to change the belief immediately. I tell them that they have spent much time proving their belief systems in their lives. They have gone out of their own way to make sure the belief is proved correct. The worst part about it is that they don’t know they are doing it. I tell them that the way to get rid of a crappy belief system is to replace it with a good one and take action in their life to prove that one correct. When we change the belief, it will feel awkward and new. We won’t be convinced by it until we take it for a test drive and see how much better it makes us feel. When we start believing a new belief, sometimes many other illogical ones pop up around it. That is why we call it a belief system. Usually, there are many beliefs that are supporting each other.
