Self-Care Tool #2 Not Taking Care of Yourself Is Procrastination of Your Work in the World Often, when I am coaching on this subject, my clients will describe their self-sacrifice as a noble thing. In many ways, some minor sacrifices are necessary to give to your family, as well as to your job, etc. But it’s NEVER noble to sacrifice your health in any way for anyone. One of your responsibilities on the planet is to work through your emotional roadblocks. Distracting yourself from yourself in order to handle the problems of everyone else is a cop-out. It’s the way you procras- tinate the work of your own life. It’s YOUR RESPONSIBILITY as a mature adult to clean out your emotional closet and take care of yourself physically on a regular basis. You cannot convince me that other people’s needs can be dealt with at the expense of your own…ever. I know it might sound harsh. I know it might sound like I am not giving you credit for all it is you do for your family or your job.
