Overweight • 17 hungry, we can't identify when we are full, and even worse, our body doesn't seem to know either. How is it that we can feel hungry all day long? How is it that we can be as hungry as someone who has very little fat on their body? It doesn't seem to make sense. And it doesn't. Our body's wisdom has been sabotaged by us. We didn't mean to do it, but we did. It's a bit heartbreaking when you think about it. Our body is innocent. It's doing what it was designed to do. It's storing fat, and telling you to eat more so it can become more efficient at storing fat. That's its job. That's the reason we have evolved to this point. And yet, it's also killing us. Our hunger signals are off; they are telling us to eat way too much. This overeating causes overweight in record amounts. We can't trust that we are hungry, although we feel hungry a lot of the time. It has become normal to eat all day and in huge quantities at mealtime. The body has adjusted to accommodate this. So the question is, why have we become overeating machines? Why are we so overweight? What changed from when we could truly rely on our body's wisdom to eat and stop and then go on with our day without another thought of food?
